What Type of Needles Do You Use?
Acupuncture needles are not like hypodermic needles, syringes, sewing needles or any other type of needle you’ve likely encountered before. They are thread-like and flexible. We use needles made of single-use, gamma ray sterilized stainless steel. They are designed to not puncture the skin, but to separate fibers of the tissue. The majority of acupuncture points are located just below the surface of the skin (3-5mm). You can see for yourself why most people consider acupuncture needles a virtually pain-free experience with little discomfort. There is no need to worry.
